An article from the ap has been circulating the internet with estimates surrounding the movie theater revenues for the year . Revenues are now projected at 10.15 Billion dollars a year or down four percent yoy 2010. The record for theater revenues was 10.6 billion dollars in 2009. This years revenues will be the worst revenues since 1995. Theater revenues are usually split down the middle between the studios and the theaters, and that split is usually pretty consistent up through 3-D and or Imax showings. This year the content studios have proven their desperation time and time again most notably with the SOPA or (Stop Piracy Act) which would penalize websites that host studio owned content.
